5 Cyberpunk 2077 Tips You Probably Haven't Heard Before
I've been replaying Cyberpunk 2077 and found out some things my friends didn't know they could do in Cyberpunk 2077! So, here are 5 tips for Cyberpunk 2077 you probably haven't heard before.
By now, you’ve probably played Cyberpunk 2077 and you must have also been scrounging around the internet for gameplay guides and beginner tips.
Fortunately for you, the tips I listed below aren’t beginner or advanced tips that you have already seen before. On the downside, some of these may be useful and some are not.
So, here are 5 tips for Cyberpunk 2077 you probably haven’t heard before!
Sell or Disassemble Everything You Don’t Need. Everything!
This is pretty basic, and honestly, I probably did not have to put this down the list for some of you. Still, I’ve encountered tons of players that either hoard all the loot they have and only sell them once V is overweight or encumbered.
Well, here’s a tip for you. Just sell or disassemble everything and anything you don’t need at all.
Sell everything you don’t need or items that are not Iconic. More often than not, you will always find better equipment later on in the game. Apart from Main Mission loot and rewards, Iconic items will always pop up if you keep on doing NCPD Scanner Hustles, Side Jobs, and Gigs.
The money you get from selling items lets you buy better cars, guns, knives, clothes, Crafting Specs, and apartments. You can spend money to immerse yourself more in Night City, or just get stronger items to make Cyberpunk 2077 easier.
If you don’t need the money, don’t have anything you need to buy later on, or have bought everything you want or need, then just disassemble items instead of selling them.
Disassembling items lets you acquire components to craft new items or upgrade existing weapons. This is important if you have an item you don’t want to remove, or for Iconic items you found early on in the game.
The tier of Iconic items scale with the level you found them. Therefore, you will need to upgrade them so their damage catches up to the enemies’ levels.
Enemy levels and damage scaling were not as much of a problem before Patch 2.0 when enemy levels were decided by the areas they were found in Night City. After Cyberpunk 2077’s Patch 2.0 expansion, enemies in Night City now have level scaling.
You can Grab and Kill or Non-lethal Takedown all Human Enemies.
While level scaling has made Cyberpunk 2077 combat a bit more difficult, one thing remains the same—Kills and Non-lethal Takedowns from Grabs are surefire ways of eliminating human enemies quickly.
As opposed to engaging in straightforward combat, enemies with HP may take longer or be impossible to kill. It may also take you more bullets or consumables to defeat one.
Fortunately, human enemies are always vulnerable to kills and non-lethal takedowns regardless of how high their health is.
Stealth attacks may provide increased damage, even more with headshots, sometimes they are still not enough. Some enemies just can’t be instantly taken down in one shot from guns or knife throws done while in stealth.
So if your enemy is human and not in a large suit of armor like Adam Smasher, you can try getting up close and taking them down silently.
Grab kills and non-lethal takedowns are also recommended for missions with tons of enemies. This may take more time and planning, but sometimes stealth takedowns are the easier and faster way if you have the patience for it
If you don’t have the patience, Cyberpunk 2077’s combat system features tons of options for those who want to go guns blazing—or swords blazing, if that’s even a thing.
If a Fight is too Difficult, just Walk Away.
Speaking of guns and swords blazing, oftentimes we get carried away when things get intense. We may start to think that we absolutely have to defeat an enemy or the group of enemies right in front of us.
This constantly happens with combat encounters when exploring the vast open world in video games, so this isn’t just a thing in Cyberpunk 2077.
Considering that there are multiple side quests and random enemies that you can encounter in the streets of Night City and its outskirts, this is bound to happen once in a while.
When guns and swords blazing are not enough, you might try to stealth your way through the mission or combat encounter. This may happen unwillingly if the player has given up on trying a more straightforward approach.
Still, this is a reminder that running away is always an option.
Chances are, you can always go back to the area to redo the whole thing once you are stronger and better equipped. Almost all criminal activities, side hustles, and some side gigs can be re-done if you fail their combat encounters.
The only times running away might not work are combat encounters in side missions that involve mission-related NPCs. In these cases, the combat encounters are often forced and scripted as they are related to the fate of the NPC or the mission. Main mission combat encounters are the only ones you can’t undo and re-do once you run away from them.
You can reset both the Code Matrix and Sequences by exiting the Breach Protocol
Walking away in Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t just applicable in combat. Quickhacking mini-games; also called Breach Protocol, lets you walk away from the situation if things are not looking good for you.
Oftentimes, players will want to get all three sequences but settle with what they can get if they make a mistake or they can’t get all.
That’s fine if you’re fine with not getting all possible rewards but this is just a reminder that you can step out of the Breach Protocol by simply closing it.
Once you’ve terminated the process, the Quickhacking pop-up button should still be up. Just wait a few seconds for it to cooldown and become active again.
If your timer runs out during the Breach Protocol or finish it and get a reward, the Quickhacking mini-game can’t be done again.
You can hover your mouse over a code in the Sequence tab to highlight the corresponding codes in the Code Matrix.
Here's another helpful Quickhacking tip: You can see where specific codes are located in the code matrix. Simply hover your mouse over a code in the sequence board, and the corresponding code in the matrix will be highlighted.
You may just eyeball the possible sequences, but you can do it easier more easily way. The code you hover your mouse on will be highlighted in the code matrix by boxes.
If you can’t find the right sequence to get the most out of the Quickhacking mini-game, just step out of it!
As someone who wants to get the most out of everything in Cyberpunk 2077, I actually take the time to plan these out. It only takes a few seconds! So, it’s something you can consider.
